ASCENDER WITH ROPE STOPPER CAPABLE OF EASILY ACTIVATING BECAUSE STOPPER ACTUATING MEMBER IS RELEASED BY SLIGHT FORCE

PURPOSE: Provided is an ascender to allow a rope stopper to actuate in a simple manipulation and to be manufactured by a simple process. CONSTITUTION: The ascender(1) includes a handle portion(10) and a head portion(11) formed with a one-side open groove(13). The ascender comprises a rope stopper(5) disposed at the head portion, a pressing spring for elastically biasing the rope stopper to a pressing position, a stopper pivoting member(17) for restraining the pivot range of the rope stopper, and a stopper actuating member(27). The rope stopper pivots between the pressing position for pressing the rope and a releasing position for releasing the rope. The rope stopper is formed with a length of an activating hole(21b) and a spring receiving portion at central region thereof. The stopper pivoting member has a piece projecting from any one of the inner sides of a curved portion. The stopper actuating member is provided with a stopper actuating shaft and an actuating spring for elastically biasing the stopper actuating shaft to the projecting pieces.
