PURPOSE: A mobile terminal having an abbreviated dialing function and a method thereof are provided to input a telephone number only of other party without inputting a network ID number or a local number when making a call with the other party, then to automatically make the call with the telephone number of the other party. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal is in standby state(S310). A user inputs a telephone number to make a call, and inputs a 'send' button(S320). A microprocessor decides whether entire telephone numbers including the inputted telephone number exist in a telephone number storage(S330). If so(S340), the microprocessor reads the entire telephone numbers to generate call connection request data, and delivers the call connection request data with the entire telephone numbers to attempt a wireless telephone call(S350).
