METHOD FOR PREPARING EXPANSION CARBON FROM WASTE ION EXCHANGE RESIN WITHOUT GRAPHITE AND SULFURIC ACID TO RECYCLE WASTE ION EXCHANGE RESIN TO BE DISUSED
PURPOSE: To a preparation method of expansion carbon from waste ion exchange resin, wherein the waste ion exchange resin is recycled, and the expansion carbon is prepared without graphite and sulfuric acid by preparing the expansion carbon from waste ion exchange resin disused after being used in removal of inorganic matter contained in water. CONSTITUTION: The preparation method of expansion carbon from waste ion exchange resin comprises a process of preparing expansion carbon by impregnating the waste ion exchange resin with a 0.5M KOH or K2CO3 solution, thereby stabilizing the waste ion exchange resin and heat treating the impregnated waste ion exchange resin after removing inorganic matter adsorbed onto the waste ion exchange resin using a 1N hydrochloric acid solution, wherein the expanded carbon preparation process comprises a step of removing the inorganic matter adsorbed onto the waste ion exchange resin by dipping the waste ion exchange resin into the hydrochloric acid solution at an ordinary temperature for 24 hours in a ratio of 200 cc of the 1N hydrochloric acid solution to 10 g of the waste ion exchange resin; a step of stabilizing the inorganic matter removed waste ion exchange resin in air at a temperature of 250 deg.C for 4 hours; and a step of maintaining the heated waste ion exchange resin for 30 minutes by heating the impregnated waste ion exchange resin to a temperature of 700 deg.C in a high temperature increasing rate after impregnating the waste ion exchange resin with the potassium hydroxide or potassium carbonate solution for 4 hours in a ratio of 200 cc of 0.5M potassium hydroxide or potassium carbonate solution to 10 g of the stabilized waste ion exchange resin.
