PURPOSE: An UV lamp having no electrode is provided to improve thermal stability and performance of an ozone generating system using the UV lamp having no electrode. CONSTITUTION: An UV lamp having no electrode radiates 185nm UV rays using a special quartz tube to generate a large quantity of ozone. Low-pressure argon gas and a predetermined quantity of mercury(3) are sealed in the quartz tube that does not absorb high-power microwaves. The quartz tube is composed of a central cooling water tube(5) and an outer quartz tube(1). The central cooling water tube is 600mm in length and the outer quartz tube is 500mm in length. The central cooling water tube is coated with gold powder reflecting mirror(2) to prevent cooling water from absorbing UV rays. The UV lamp is operated by microwaves.
