PURPOSE: A system and method for a real-time bidirectional service using the SMS(Short Message Service) between an Internet messenger and a mobile terminal is provided to aim at the revitalization of international SMS utilization by enabling an bi-directional service with a mobile communication network of another country without a technical change. CONSTITUTION: A system for a real-time bidirectional service using the SMS between an Internet messenger and a mobile terminal comprises an Internet messenger(100), a system server(200), a short message forwarding server(300), a mobile terminal(400), an SMS reception and conversion unit(500), and an SMS collection unit(600). The Internet messenger(100) transmits a short message to the system server(200). The system server(200) receives the short message from the Internet messenger(100), inquires into an associated intrinsic code, combines matters relevant to the mobile terminal(400), and transmits a short message to the short message forwarding server(300). The short message forwarding server(300) sends a short message to the mobile terminal(400), and transmits a transmission state to the system server(200). The mobile terminal(400) transmits a short message to the Internet messenger user's virtual number. The SMS reception and conversion unit(500) collects the short messages received from the mobile terminal(400), and sends the collected short messages to the SMS collection unit(600) in the form of data.
