PURPOSE: To provide a method for extracting essential oil from fragrant grass, which is able to improve yield of the essential oil under a relatively low pressure within a short period of time using a supercritical extraction system. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (a) crushing sample into particles having a size of not more than 150 mesh; (b) after putting a mixture solution of distilled water and ether in a volumetric ratio of 1:1 in the crushed sample, heating it at a temperature of 40-60 deg.C for 30 minutes to firstly evaporate essential oil component; (c) after firstly extracting the mixture solution that has completed the step (b) in a supercritical extractor through the medium of CO2 under 1,000 psig for 15 minutes, secondarily extracting perfumed oil under 1,500 psig for 25 minutes; and (e) collecting saturated water that has completed the first and second supercritical extractions in a container through a separation pipe.
