NOVEL MICROBE GORDONIA SIHWANIENSIS PKL-1 CAPABLE OF DEGRADING DIMETHYL SULFIDES IN VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS AND METHOD FOR TREATING WASTEWATER, SEWAGE AND AIR USING THE SAME
NOVEL MICROBE GORDONIA SIHWANIENSIS PKL-1 CAPABLE OF DEGRADING DIMETHYL SULFIDES IN VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS AND METHOD FOR TREATING WASTEWATER, SEWAGE AND AIR USING THE SAME
PURPOSE: To provide a novel microbe capable of effectively degrading dimethyl sulfides in volatile organic compounds without secondary contamination, and a method for degrading dimethyl sulfide contained in sewage, wastewater, air or soil using the novel microbe. CONSTITUTION: The novel microbe Gordonia sihwaniensis PKL-1(KCCM-10443) is characterized in that it is capable of degrading volatile organic compounds, wherein the volatile organic compounds are dimethyl sulfides(DMS). The method for treating wastewater, sewage and air containing volatile organic compounds is characterized in that the wastewater, sewage and air are treated by using the novel microbe Gordonia sihwaniensis PKL-1(KCCM-10443), wherein the volatile organic compounds contain dimethyl sulfides(DMS), wherein the wastewater, sewage and air are treated by cultivating the novel microbe Gordonia sihwaniensis PKL-1(KCCM-10443) at a temperature of 25 to 40 deg.C and a pH of 6 to 8, and wherein content of the dimethyl sulfides(DMS) is 0.01 to 50 ppm.
