PURPOSE: An oscillator of a raman laser by using a stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS) and an intra-cavity second harmonic generation(Intra-cavity SHG) and a method for the same are provided to have a very excellent efficiency in comparison with a conventional oscillator of the raman laser. CONSTITUTION: An oscillator of raman laser by using a stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS) and an intra-cavity second harmonic generation(Intra-cavity SHG) includes an output mirror(21), a Raman cell(2), a condenser lens(13), a nonlinear optical material(8) used for generating second harmonic, a laser rod(4), a Q-switch(5) and a resonance reflector(6). The output mirror(21) and the resonance reflector(6) have a high reflectivity for the basic wavelength and the second harmonic generation, but transmit the second harmonic generation of the Raman conversion wavelength. The condenser lens(13) is placed in such a way that it has a condensing focus in the Raman cell(2). The pumping light resonator and the second harmonic resonator are formed between the resonance reflector(6) and the output mirror(21). The Brillouin resonator due to the second harmonic generation is formed between the resonance reflector(6) and the phase conjugated reflector formed by the phase conjugation characteristics due to the SBS in the Raman cell(2).
