PURPOSE: To provide a method for removing nitrogen and phosphorous from wastewater, which is able to improve nitrogen and phosphorous removing efficiency and stably treat the wastewater even if it is small by maximizing advantages of an intermittent cycle extended aeration system and introducing a system that utilizes space for functions of an anaerobic tank and an anoxic tank. CONSTITUTION: In the method, an anaerobic tank/anoxic tank A(1) and an anaerobic tank/anoxic tank B(2) act as the anaerobic tank when a water is flown therein through a pump of a distribution tank(12) or a flow equalization tank or act as the anoxic tank and an aeration tank when the flow of the water stops. A main reaction tank A(5) and a main reaction tank B(6) act as the anoxic tank and the aeration tank when the water is flown therein or act as a precipitation and a discharge when the flow of water stops.
