DATA DRIVING CIRCUIT OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND ITS DRIVING METHOD, ESPECIALLY REDUCING POWER CONSUMPTION WHEN DISPLAYING STILL IMAGE WITHOUT EMBEDDING STATIC MEMORY IN EACH PIXEL
PURPOSE: A data driving circuit of a liquid crystal display and its driving method are provided to reduce power consumption by generating two bits output as to each R,G,B using only MSB of digital data. CONSTITUTION: The data driving circuit includes a shift register(50), and a latch unit(51) comprising a number of latches and storing input digital data sampled by the shift register. A digital analog converter and amplifier(53) converts the sampled digital data into an analog signal and amplifies it. An analog signal providing unit(54) generates an analog voltage corresponding to a black signal level and a white signal level respectively. A color conversion control signal providing unit(55) controls whether to display the input digital data in full colors or in 8 colors. A selector(56) selects one of analog signals corresponding to the black signal level and the white level signal. And a multiplexer(57) receives the output analog signal and then transfers it to a corresponding data line(58) respectively.
