PURPOSE: To provide a chemical composition for controlling red tide, the composition that has excellent red tide control efficiency by sufficiently adsorbing and coagulating red tide organisms while the composition is being submerged in a effervescent granule shape and does not cause secondary contamination of the bed of the sea by preventing a sedimentary layer from forming on the bottom of the sea. CONSTITUTION: The chemical composition for controlling red tide comprises 80 to 90 wt.% of ocher powder, 3 to 5 wt.% of copper sulfate, 2 to 3 wt.% of sodium carbonate peroxyhydrate, 3 to 5 wt.% of lime casein, and 3 to 5 wt.% of baking soda, wherein the ocher is prepared by refining naturally collected ocher, milling the refined ocher to a particle size of 1 to 1,000 μm and drying the milled ocher at high temperature of about 1,000 deg.C, thereby securing pores in particles of ocher to maximize specific surface area of ocher particles for adsorbing and coagulating red tide organisms, the copper sulfate is a compound widely used as an anti-mold agent for inhibiting growth of mold and unicellular plant, the sodium carbonate peroxyhydrate functions to suppress supply of CO2 required for the red tide organisms, the lime casein, a mixture of casein and slaked lime, consistently performs decomposition activity on the sedimentary layer, and the baking soda as a forming agent delays retention time to help adsorption and coagulation of the red tide organisms.
