TREATMENT METHOD OF UNDESIRED SECONDARY ORGANIC COMPONENT FORMED DURING NITRATION OF TOLUENE INTO DINITROTOLUENE WITHOUT ADDITIONAL PROCESS AND ADDITION OF FOREIGN MATERIALS TO REMOVE IT
PURPOSE: Provided is a method for treating and removing an undesired organic secondary component which is formed during the nitration of toluene into dinitrotoluene and is present together with a small amount of mononitrotoluene and dinitrotoluene in the acidic and alkaline waste water obtained from the washing step of dinitrotoluene and the aqueous distilled product obtained from the concentration step of sulfuric acid, without additional process and without the addition of foreign materials. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of mixing the acidic and alkaline waste water obtained from the washing step of the nitration process of toluene into dinitrotoluene with an aqueous distilled product obtained from the concentration step of sulfuric acid to make pH be less than 5; separating an organic phase and an aqueous phase; and recirculating the separated organic phase into the nitration process.
