METHOD FOR REMOVING POLLUTANTS ON A DRUM HEAD DURING A LONG-TIME RECORDING PROCESS IN A TIMELAPSE VCR, SPECIFICALLY CORRELATED TO RE-RECORDING WHILE POLLUTANTS OF THE DRUM HEAD ARE REMOVED, SO AS TO STABLY CARRY OUT THE LONG-TIME RECORDING PROCESS

PURPOSE: A method for removing a drum head pollutant during a long-time recording process in a timelapse VCR is provided to automatically check pollutants of a drum head when a recording process is not normally conducted owing to the pollutants of the head, and to remove the checked pollutants to continue the recording, thereby more stably performing the recording process for a long time. CONSTITUTION: When a long-time recording command request is received from a user, a timelapse VCR controller records a video signal inputted from an external camera(S300). The controller checks whether a drum head pollutant checking time comes(S302). If so, the controller stops recording of a video tape, and plays the video tape(S304). The controller checks a reproduction envelope compare signal to inspect whether a drum head has pollutants(S306). If so, the controller stops playing the tape, and records VISS data(S308). The controller removes foreign substance from the drum head by performing an FF(Fast Forward) function(S310), and stops the FF function(S312). The controller stops the tape by performing a rewinding function until a VISS signal is detected(S314), and continues the recording.
