PURPOSE: A call waiting service method based on subscriber appointment in a mobile communication network is provided to consult the convenience of mobile subscribers by making a call waiting service applied only for appointed mobile terminals. CONSTITUTION: If the second calling mobile terminal(14) attempts call origination to a called mobile terminal(10) in the middle of the voice call between the called mobile terminal(10) and the first calling mobile terminal(12), a call waiting service server(18) judges whether the second calling mobile terminal(14) is a terminal appointed by the called mobile terminal(10) for a call waiting service. In case that it is judged that the second calling mobile terminal(14) is an appointed terminal for the call waiting service, the call waiting service server(18) sends a call waiting tone signal to the called mobile terminal through a mobile communication network. If the called mobile terminal(10) makes a response for a voice call with the second calling mobile terminal(14), an associated MSC transfers the first calling mobile terminal to a waiting state.
