BIDIRECTIONAL LCD DEVICE FOR REDUCING BRIGHTNESS DIFFERENCE CAUSED DUE TO THE SIZE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE LARGE-SIZED LCD PANEL ASSEMBLY AND A SMALL-SIZED LCD PANEL ASSEMBLY
PURPOSE: A bidirectional LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to reduce brightness difference caused in the first LCD panel assembly due to the size difference between the first LCD panel assembly and the second LCD panel assembly, thereby improving display quality by using a brightness compensation film having two regions of different reflection characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A light guide plate(220) has the first light-exit surface and the second light-exit surface. The first light-exit surface receives light from a light source and emits the light. The second light-exit surface is a reverse surface of the first light-exit surface. The first and the second LCD panel assemblies(230,240) are disposed at the first and the second light-exit surfaces, respectively. The first LCD panel assembly has a size smaller than the second LCD panel assembly. A brightness compensation film(250) is disposed between the second light-exit surface of the light guide plate and the second LCD panel assembly. The brightness compensation film has the first region corresponding to the second LCD panel assembly and the second region not corresponding to the second LCD panel assembly. The first region and the second region have different reflection characteristics.
