PURPOSE: A sliding device of a slide type mobile terminal is provided to avoid user's inconvenience to apply a strong force to slide to open a top folder part with a finger until the top folder part is stopped over a bottom folder part. CONSTITUTION: A rack gear(115) is fixed at a rear surface of a top folder part(110). A pinion gear(127) is installed at a bottom folder part(120) and engaged with the rack gear(115) so as to be rotated. A driving unit(129) drives to rotate the pinion gear(127). Sliding sense switches(140,150) drive the driving unit(129) to open the bottom folder part(120) when the top folder part(110) is pushed up over the bottom folder part(120), and drives the driving unit(129) to close the bottom folder part(120) when the top folder part(110) is pulled down over the bottom folder part(120) in the opened state.
