METHOD FOR SIZING INTAKE RISER OR INTAKE SCREEN TO COLLECTING SEAWATER ON DESALINATION PLANT

PURPOSE: A method for sizing an intake riser or an intake screen to collecting seawater on a desalination plant is provided to verify an optimal size of the intake riser or intake screen and apply the verified optimal size to a desalination project. CONSTITUTION: A total flux of the seawater collected to the desalination plant and a number of the installed intake riser are confirmed(S1). The flux for each intake riser is calculated(S2). A seawater intake speed is calculated by confirming a flow rate and a diameter of an intake pipe(S4). An outer area needed from the intake riser is calculated by dividing the collected flux for each intake riser into the seawater intake speed(S5). The size of entire intake riser is calculates by calculating a height of the intake riser and an area of a bar(S6).
