PRINTING SYSTEM FOR SUPPORTING EMULATION DEFINED FROM PRINTER APPLICATION DEVELOPER AND METHOD FOR SUPPORTING EMULATION ON THE SAME

PURPOSE: A printing system for supporting emulation defined from a printer application developer and a method for supporting the emulation on the same are provided to enable the printer application developer to easily make a printing program by developing the emulation based on the previously developed emulation, storing it to a memory of the printing system, and using the stored emulation. CONSTITUTION: A computer interface(330) receives the emulation defined by a user and a printing command signal from an external computer(200). The printer memory(320) stores at least more than one fixed emulation and the received user emulation. A printer controller(310) discriminates an emulation mode of the received printing command. In case of a user emulation mode, the printer controller forms an image based on the user emulation stored in the printer memory. In the case of a fixed emulation mode, the printer controller forms the image based on the fixed emulation stored in the printer memory.
