PURPOSE: A system for managing the vehicle by using a global positioning system(GPS) and a method for the same are provided to effectively manage by reflecting the information of main use places such as an oil supplying, a maintenance or the like on the driving of vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A system for managing the vehicle by using a global positioning system(GPS) includes a position information storage unit(250), a detection unit(300) and a main server(400). The position information storage unit receives the GPS information from the GPS satellites and generates and stores the current position information of the vehicle based on the received GPS information. The detection unit is installed on a predetermined position to detect the current position information stored at the position information storage unit. And, the main server is electrically connected to the detection unit to calculate the statistical data by collecting the position information detected by the detection unit.
