PURPOSE: A chain pressing supporting device for a surface cutter of a chain is provided to prevent damage of a bite by holding securely a chain during cutting and machining face of the chain, thereby obtaining a good quality chain. CONSTITUTION: A chain supporting means(110) makes contact with a cutting bite partially. The chain supporting means is disposed so as to be opposite to the cutting bite. A pair of plates in which supporting recesses are installed is provided at the periphery partially. The chain supporting means is installed at a driving means(120) independently. The plates firmly catch the pressing state during cutting work of the chain.
