PURPOSE: A wire/wireless phone connection method and apparatus in a general directory number service is provided to use the immobility of wire phones in catching the locations of associated subscribers so that mobile users also can easily use a general information number service. CONSTITUTION: If a user selects a subscriber's phone number by using a wire terminal(1-101) or a wireless terminal(1-201), a wired calling switching network(1-100) or a wireless calling switching network(1-200) sends the user's calling number and the selected subscriber number to a service provider's communication control processing system(1-500). The communication control processing system(1-500) sends the calling number and the selected number to a subscriber data processing unit(1-501). The subscriber data processing unit(1-501) outputs an announcement, registered by the subscriber, to the user. At the same time, the subscriber data processing unit(1-501) analyzes whether the calling number is a wire phone number or a mobile number.
