PURPOSE: A method and a device for processing data of an image forming device dynamically changing a role of buffers are provided to enhance maximum output speed without occurring data-under-run in case of a printer by enhancing compression/decompression speed, while keeping a bus bandwidth and a small area. CONSTITUTION: A buffer sensor(122) senses an initial state or termination of data compression, and outputs a sensing result. A buffer controller(120) inputs the data to be compressed or decompressed through at least one of the first/second input buffers(130,132), and outputs the compressed or decompressed data through at least one of the first/second output buffers(134,136) by responding to the sensing result. A compressor(114) compresses the data inputted from at least one of the first/second input buffers, and outputs a compressed result to at least one of the first/second output buffers. A decompressor(116) decompresses the data inputted from at least one of the first/second input buffers, and outputs a decompressed result to at least one of the first/second output buffers. A storing part(124) stores the data to be compressed, the compressed data, and the decompressed data.
