PURPOSE: A method for setting an ATM traffic channel path between a control station and a base station in an EVDO system is provided to change an IP-based communication network to an ATM-based communication network with the least amount of change. CONSTITUTION: When an HCCA(channel card block) extracts and sets base station ATM path information, an SF block requests allocation of a traffic channel from the HCCA. When the HCCA receives a response to the request for allocation of a traffic channel, it requests an ATM switch block setup from an OHM block. A transfer message is set and an OHM database is changed between the OHM block and the ATM switch block. When the OHM block performs taskSpawn SFBlink, the SF block extracts an ATM path and calls an ATM path set function based on channel card information. The OHM block transmits a response to the ATM switch block setup request.
