PURPOSE: A window type air conditioner using a thermoelectric element is provided to control the room temperature by discharging hot or cold air generated from the opposite side of the thermoelectric element to the outside. CONSTITUTION: A window type air conditioner using a thermoelectric element(6) is composed of plural thermoelectric elements attached on the surface of a cylindrical ventilation guide(5) made of heat insulation materials with penetrating indoor and outdoor sides; a cooling plate(7) and a radiating plate(8) contacted and joined on both sides of the thermoelectric element; a ventilation unit(4) disposed at the constant gap on the inner peripheral surface of the ventilation guide; a ventilation opening and closing unit(10) installed at an inlet ventilation port and opened and closed automatically; a suction port(11) and a discharge port(12) formed on both surfaces of a housing(1), respectively; an air passage formed between the suction and discharge ports and contacted with the cooling plate of the outer peripheral surface of the ventilation guide; a ventilation unit(13) for discharging the air into the room; and an operation control unit(14) installed in the housing and mounted with an converter.
