PURPOSE: An automatic power supply device through Ethernet and a method thereof are provided to monitor an existing network terminal device and a line state by using a CPLD(Complex Programmable Logic Device), thereby automatically supplying power to a necessary terminal through Ethernet. CONSTITUTION: A PD sensor(320) decides whether a terminal device capable of operating with a power supply through Ethernet is connected, by sensing a line state, and decides whether to supply power to the connected terminal device. A power supply(330) supplies the power to the terminal device through an Ethernet line according to decided results of the PD sensor(320). A switch unit(340) is relayed to supply the power. A controller(310) receives output values from the PD sensor(320) and the power supplier(330), and controls the PD sensor(320), the power supplier(330), and the switch unit(340) according to the received output values.
