PURPOSE: An automatic defrost method of an air conditioning freezer is provided to keep stored articles fresh by reducing temperature deviation before/after a defrost operation and to save energy by decreasing the number of defrost operations. CONSTITUTION: An automatic defrost method circulated by a cooling cycle to remove frost and ice formed on the surface of an evaporator below 0 deg.C is composed of steps for detecting an average current value before a defrost operation during operating an air conditioning freezer(204) and a current value by installing an ammeter(203) for detecting the change of the current value in forming ice or frost on the surface of the evaporator to a power line of a blower motor; amplifying and transmitting the current value according to a detected difference value to a microprocessor(200), cutting off and stopping power of a compressor and a blower fan motor of the freezer by the microprocessor, and then operating a defrost unit(205); and operating the blower fan motor after operating the defrost unit for the constant time, comparing the current values of the blower fan motor detected from the ammeter by the microprocessor, forcing the defrost unit to repeatedly execute a defrost operation for the set time within the predetermined numbers if the current value is over a user set range, stopping the defrost unit and operating forcibly the freezer after the set time to prevent the stored articles from being spoiled in breakdown of the ammeter, and operating the freezer if the compared current value is below the set range.
