SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GENERAL STOCKTAKING SERVICE IN LIBRARY USING PDA EQUIPPED WITH BARCODE/RFID SCANNER

PURPOSE: A system and a method for a general stocktaking service in library using a PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) equipped with a barcode/RFID(Radio Frequency ID) scanner are provided to perform stocktaking by comparing scanned book information with the book information in the PDA and performing confirmation on the PDA. CONSTITUTION: A communication network(10) performs stocktaking-related data communication according to operation of a library manager by connecting library terminals(30) and a library server(40). Each PDA(20) is connected with an expansion pack of a barcode/RFID scanning function to scan a barcode/RFID attached to each book, and stores a book information file recording barcode/RFID information and abstracted book information of each book. The PDA displays the book information and the scanned barcode/RFID information on a screen, and updates/temporarily stores the file according to the operation of the manager comparing/confirming the displayed information. The library terminals download the updated file from the PDA and update it by outputting it to the library server.
