PURPOSE: A drum-type washing machine and a method for controlling the same are provided to equally wet the laundry in a short time and to improve rinsing performance by injecting and supplying directly the water into a rotary tub in finishing an intermittent dewatering step executed after washing and/or rinsing step. CONSTITUTION: A control method of a drum-type washing machine is composed of a first step for dewatering the laundry by turning a rotary tub after washing or rinsing step(103) and a second step for injecting and supplying the water into the rotary tub in a range that the rotary tub turns inertially in the dewatering step. Time for injecting and supplying water is shorter than the time for stopping the inertial rotation of the rotary tub. The water of a fixed tub is pumped out until the rotary tub stops turning inertially.
