PURPOSE: A liquid crystal compound is provided, which has high nematic isotropic transition temperature(T¬NI) and fast response time. And a liquid crystal composition containing the liquid crystal compound and a VA(vertical alignment) LCD containing the liquid crystal composition are provided. CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal compound is represented by the formula 1 or 2, wherein each of A, B, C, D, and E is independently a cyclohexyl, a cyclohexenyl, or a phenyl, at least one of A, B, and C is the cyclohexenyl, at least one of D and E is the cyclohexenyl, each of R1, R2, R3, and R4 is independently a C1-C9 alkyl, a C1-C9 alkenyl, or a C1-C9 alkoxy, y is 0 or 1, X1 or X2 is independently hydrogen or a halogen, and at least one hydrogen of the cyclohexenyl is substituted by deuterium. The liquid crystal composition satisfies 0=a=30, 0=b=30, 5=a+b=30, wherein a is the content(wt%) of the liquid crystal compound of the formula 1 and b is the content(wt%) of the liquid crystal compound of the formula 2. And the LCD comprises a liquid crystal layer between a couple of electrode substrate, wherein the liquid crystal layer comprises the liquid crystal composition.
