PRODUCTION OF ARTICLE CONTAINING SILVER IN ATOM STATE BY SPRAYING SILVER NITRATE AQUEOUS SOLUTION ON SURFACE OF SOCKS, YARN, PAPER, PLASTIC, CERAMIC, WOOD OR THE LIKE, OR SOAKING THEREIN

PURPOSE: A method of making an article containing a silver atom by spraying a silver nitrate aqueous solution on the surface of socks, yarn, paper, plastic, ceramic, wood or the like or soaking therein is provided. The article contains silver in an atom state and thus has antimicrobial and deodorizing actions. CONSTITUTION: The articles containing silver atoms are prepared by the steps of: spraying 0.01 to 1.0% by weight of a silver nitrate aqueous solution on the surface of socks, yarn, paper, plastic, ceramic, wood or the like or soaking the socks, yarn, paper, plastic, ceramic, wood or the like in the silver nitrate aqueous solution; drying; and spraying with an aqueous solution of a reducing agent or soaking therein. The aqueous solution of the reducing agent is one selected from the group consisting of hydrogen peroxide, sorbitol, D-sorbitol and white sugar and contains the reducing agent whose concentration is 3 to 15% and whose pH is about 10 to 11.
