PURPOSE: A device and a method for automatically selecting a microphone in a mobile communication terminal are provided to automatically convert into a photographer's microphone, only when a sound applied to the photographer's microphone is more than a predetermined reference value, and to record the photographer's voice or sound, thereby clearly recording a target's voice or peripheral sound. CONSTITUTION: An analog switch unit(40) selectively outputs either a signal of a camera side microphone(10) or a signal of a photographer's microphone(20). A level comparator(30) is applied with the signal of the photographer's microphone(20), so that the analog switch unit(40) can select a user side microphone signal if the applied signal is more than a preset volume level. If the applied signal is less than the volume level, the level comparator(30) supplies a control signal to the analog switch unit(40) such that the switch unit(40) can select the signal of the camera side microphone(10).
