PURPOSE: A network for mobile communications, and intermittent activating method of a receiving circuit of a mobile user terminal are provided to periodically perform an activation process according to a certain cycle selected by depending on one of plural service types, which is supplied to a final call connection toward a mobile user terminal. CONSTITUTION: A discontinuous UTRAN receiving cycle is set by an RNC(Radio Network Controller)(8). The RNC(8) receives a user access profile(22) related to a call to be set in order to include an indicator(24) of a service type that a call connection for a mobile user terminal is used. The indicator(24) is used by a discontinuous UTRAN receiving cycle selector(26). Information of a discontinuous UTRAN receiving cycle length is a portion of a dedicated control-signaling related to setting up a call with the mobile user terminal, and is transmitted to the mobile user terminal. When the call is once terminated, the mobile user terminal uses the selected discontinuous UTRAN receiving cycle length until a new discontinuous UTRAN receiving cycle length is selected.
