ACID ANHYDRIDE BEING EASILY PREPARED WITHOUT SPECIAL REACTION DEVICE, LIQUID CRYSTAL ALIGNMENT LAYER HAVING IMPROVED STABILITY IN RELATION TO PRETILT ANGLE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE HAVING HIGH VOLTAGE MAINTAINING RATE AND ELECTRIC PROPERTY WHICH HARDLY CAUSES STICKING
PURPOSE: An acid anhydride, a liquid crystal alignment layer and a liquid crystal display device are provided, which acid anhydride is easily prepared without a special reaction device, which liquid crystal alignment layer prepared from the acid anhydride has improved stability in relation to pretilt angle, and which liquid crystal display device prepared by using the liquid crystal alignment layer has high voltage maintaining rate and an electric property which hardly causes a sticking. CONSTITUTION: The varnish comprising at least one selected from the acid anhydride of formula (1) or polyamic acid prepared by reacting a mixture of the acid anhydride of formula (1) and other acid anhydrides with diamine, the acid anhydride of formula (1) or polyimide prepared by reacting a mixture of the acid anhydride of formula (1) and other acid anhydrides with diamine, and the acid anhydride of formula (1) or polyamic acid prepared by reacting a mixture of the acid anhydride of formula (1) and other acid anhydrides, and dicarboxylic acid derivatives with diamine is provided, wherein A1 is a group of formula (c), B1 and B2 are independently a group of formula (a) or (b); R11 and R12 are independently hydrogen, C1-C15 alkyl, C2-C15 alkoxyallyl, or C1-C15 fluoroalkyl; R31 and R32 are independently hydrogen, C1-C15 alkyl, C2-C15 alkoxyalkyl, C1-C15 fluoroalkyl, cyclohexyl, phenylcyclohexyl, or cyclohexylbenzyl; X1, X2, X3 and X4 are independently monobinding, 1,3-cyclohexylene, 1,4-cyclohexylene, 1,3-cyclohexenylene, 1,4-cyclohexenylene, 1,3-phenylene, 1,4-phenylene, bicycle£3.3.0|octylene-3,7-diyl, decahydronaphthalene-2,6-diyl, 1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene-2,6-diyl, naphthalene-2,6-diyl, naphthalene-1,5-diyl, or 5-(4-cyclohexylbenzyl)-1,3-phenylene; Y1, Y2 and Y3 are independently monobinding or C1-C10 alkylene; and m, n and p are independently 0 or 1.
