PURPOSE: A ceiling mounted air conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to prevent sudden increase of suction air temperature from suction of warm air from a discharge port to an intake port by adjusting the angle of the wind direction vane according to the predetermined temperature and suction air temperature in heating, and to keep indoor temperature distribution uniform by performing heating operation stably. CONSTITUTION: A ceiling mounted air conditioner decides flow of air directly moved from a discharge port to an intake port according to change of temperature of air flowing into the intake port, and adjusts the discharge angle of air from the discharge port by a wind direction regulating device. The wind direction regulating devices reads suction air temperature after the predetermined time in starting heating, and comprises a wind direction vane(15) installed in the discharge port to adjust the discharge angle of air, a suction air temperature detecting sensor(21) sensing temperature of suction air through the intake port, a control unit(20) adjusting the angle of the wind direction vane corresponding to the output signal from the suction air temperature detecting sensor and a motor(16) connected to the wind direction vane to adjust the angle of the wind direction vane.
