PURPOSE: Provided is a door stay device for painting process which operates between a door and a vehicle body to allow the open state of a door with respect to a vehicle body to be controlled in multi-step according to the kind of working process and to allow the door for vehicles to be painted in the state which the door is open from the vehicle body by a constant interval. CONSTITUTION: The door stay device comprises a stay unit(10) which has a banding part(1) formed by banding the center part of a wire rod and a bending part(3) formed by symmetrically bending the each one side of the both wire rods divided with the center of the banding part, wherein the each terminal of the both wire rods is engaged to a mount bracket(5) mounted on the one side of a filler where the door hinge part of a door body is constituted; and a stay guide unit which is mounted on the one side of the door hinge of a door through a door check hole to correspond to the stay unit and guides the stay unit by multi-step through contact rollers(17, 19).
