PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing an image display device, an image display device, and a television apparatus are provided to stabilize mechanical strength without requiring high mechanical precision of spacers. CONSTITUTION: An image display device comprises a rear plate(1) on which a plurality of electron emitting elements are disposed; a front plate(2) opposed to the rear plate, wherein the front plate has an image forming member arranged thereon; and a plurality of spacers(4) interposed between the front plate and the rear plate. A method for manufacturing the image display device, comprises a step of measuring heights of the spacers; and a step of disposing spacers between the front plate and the rear plate, on the basis of the values measured in the previous step.
