PURPOSE: An ignition coil for a vehicle with a heat radiating unit and a heat radiation control method are provided to protect the ignition coil and the ignition system against heat by using the iron jacket with Peltier effect and emitting heat with the protection logic related with the intake system of the engine. CONSTITUTION: An ignition coil for a vehicle is composed of a coil body(10) and an iron jacket(11) radiating heat by using a semiconductor element receiving power from a battery. The heat radiation structure of the iron jacket is composed of a heat absorbing part, a heat emitting part and a semiconductor part inserted between the heat absorbing part and the heat emitting part, grounded and connected to the battery. Plural heat radiating fins are arranged around the heat emitting part. The iron jacket comprises a sensor detecting temperature of the ignition coil, and an electronic control unit controlling power supplied to the semiconductor element by receiving the signal from the sensor.
