PURPOSE: A condensate discharge device and a method of a clothes dryer are provided to form a condensation passage by judging accurately the level of the condensate contained in a condensate storage tank with a signal of a water level sensor and controlling the discharge of the condensate. CONSTITUTION: A condensate discharge device of a clothes dryer is composed of a condensate level detecting unit for sensing the level of the condensate contained in a condensate storage tank(122) with a water level sensor(128); a control unit for judging the level of the condensate stored in the condensate storage tank with a signal of the condensate level detecting unit in drying the clothes and controlling the discharge of the condensate; and a pump driving unit for discharging the condensate of the condensate storage tank by driving a pump(126) with the control unit.
