摘要

PURPOSE: A method for synthesizing of black cubic ZrO2 single crystals is provided to produce massively articles of superior quality by performing heat treatment in a carbon reduction atmosphere. CONSTITUTION: A heat treatment process is performed in the carbon reduction atmosphere. Any one of graphite, carbon, coal, charcoal, briquet and coal tar is used as a carbon supply source for making up the carbon reduction atmosphere. The carbon supply source is used within 1 to 50 wt.% on the basis of the weight of ZrO2 single crystal. A high temperature vacuum chamber keeps the vacuum degree of 10¬-1¯10¬-5 torr and the temperature of 950 to 1,500 °C. The heat treatment is lasted for 0.5 to 50 hours.
