PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for indicating a direction by using a mobile terminal are provided to allow a user to easily recognize direction information. CONSTITUTION: Detaching and attaching units(13,14) detachably attach a mobile terminal(11) to a rotating plate(15). The mobile terminal(11) transfers direction information and a direction indication signal to a controller(16) through a connection port(12). The connection port(12) connects the mobile terminal(11) and the controller(16). The controller(16) sets each direction of direction sensors(20), transfers the direction indication signal or a due north indication signal to a direction indication sensor(19), and controls a rotation motor(17). The direction indication sensor(19) checks whether the direction indicated by the direction indication signal received from the controller(16) and a direction set for currently interworking direction sensors(20) are identical, and transfers a corresponding result to the controller(16). The direction sensors(20) are set in their directions under the control of the controller(16). The rotating plate(15) is rotated by the rotation motor(17). A fixing plate(18) includes the direction sensors(20). The rotation motor(17) rotates the rotating plate(15).
