AIRBAG MODULE COVER WITH A WIDE HORN OPERATION RANGE FOR HONKING TIMELY BY ENLARGING THE OPERATION RANGE OF A HORN TO THE EDGE OF A COVER UNIT

PURPOSE: An airbag module cover with a wide horn operation range is provided to enlarge the horn operation range by forming the horn pad along the upper part of the inner cover, and to improve the durability against external impact by reinforcing the edge of the cover unit. CONSTITUTION: A cover unit(4) is installed in a steering wheel, and widened and torn to easily deploy a cushion(3) expanded by gas generated from an inflator. A tear line as a cut groove is formed in an outer cover(6), and an inner cover(5) is fitted to the outer cover. A tear line as a cut groove is formed in the inner cover, and a hinge area is placed inside the edge of the inner cover to widen the inner cover in deploying the cushion. A horn pad is mounted in the upper part of the inner cover to shield the inner cover entirely, and contacted to operate a horn by applying power in pressing the outer cover.
