ROTATION REGULATING DEVICE FOR AN ARM REST OF A VEHICLE FOR DETECTING AND ADJUSTING THE INCLINATION ANGLE OF THE ARM REST TO THE POSITION THAT PASSENGERS WANT

PURPOSE: A rotation regulating device for an arm rest of a vehicle is provided to keep the arm rest a horizontal state or the angle that passengers want, even if a backrest is inclined backward. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle has a seat(10) having a backrest of which the inclination is regulated and an arm rest(20) combined to the seat by a hinge shaft(21) to put arms of passengers. A rotation regulating device for the arm rest is composed of an arm rest rotating gear(31) shaft-combined to the hinge shaft of the seat and formed with teeth(31a) on the outer peripheral surface to rotate together with the arm rest; a rotary drive gear(32) engaged with the teeth of the arm rest rotating gear; a stopper gear(33) engaged with the teeth of the arm rest rotating gear and installed oppositely to the rotary drive gear to smooth the operation of the rotary drive gear and to function as a stopper when the rotary drive gear is not operated; and a motor(M) driven by a servo controller(34) receiving the input of a sensor detecting the rotational angle of the backrest to control the operation of the rotary drive gear. The stopper gear is rotated and stopped by a stopper member(35) reciprocated by elastic force of a spring(35b) and magnetic force of an electromagnet(35a) receiving a control signal of the servo controller.
