PURPOSE: A apparatus and a method for embodying a black box function using a camera phone are provided to quickly and accurately treat an accident of a vehicle by storing image data photographed by a camera phone mounted on a mount kit of the vehicle in the occurrence of an accident and using the stored image data as accident judgment inspection data. CONSTITUTION: If a black box function is selected, a camera unit(40) converts image photographed by a camera into image data. A memory unit(30) stores the image data transmitted from the camera unit(40) according to a circular queue method. If an accident sensing signal is inputted, a CPU(Central Processing Unit)(10) controls the memory unit(30) so as to stop the storing operation of the memory unit(30) and maintain the image data stored until an accident occurs. An accident sensing unit(20) located in a mobile terminal or a mount kit of a vehicle senses an accident of the vehicle and outputs the accident sensing signal on the basis of the sensed result.
