PURPOSE: An electronic ballast of a HID lamp and a method of generating a signal thereof are provided to prevent a trembling phenomenon of light generated from the HID lamp by applying a multi-oscillation signal to the HID lamp. CONSTITUTION: A rectification part(311) is used for rectifying an inputted AC volt. An SMPS IC(321) is used for receiving an output voltage of the rectification part and outputting a stable supply voltage. A multi-signal oscillator(331) is used for receiving an output voltage of the rectification part and generating a multi-oscillation signal. An inverter(351) is used for generating a multi-signal different from the multi-oscillation signal. A resonance part(361) is used for supplying a resonant signal of the multi-signal to An HID lamp. A resonance detector(371) is used for providing a predetermined voltage to the SMPS IC and the inverter when the resonance part performs a resonant operation. An initial operating voltage generator(341) is used for providing the initial operating voltage to the SMPS IC and the inverter.
