PURPOSE: An electron gun is provided to achieve improved resolution by enhancing the shape of the rim portions and static electric field control electrodes of a focus electrode and an anode electrode. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun comprises a cathode for emitting electron beams; a triode unit including a control electrode and an accelerating electrode for controlling and accelerating electron beams; and a main lens including a focus electrode for focusing the electron beams on a screen, and an anode electrode. The focus electrode and the anode electrode include rim portions(252a',262a') and static electric field control electrodes(254',264') having the same shape. The rim portions are formed into a circumferential track type, and the static electric field control electrodes have outer electron beam passing holes(254a',264a',254c',264c') formed into a circular shape.
