A high gain wideband microstrip patch antenna and an array antenna having the same are provided to perform receiving and transmitting simultaneously and to reduce the overall size by using a radiation patch and two parasitic patches which is magnetically coupled with the radiation patch. A high gain wideband microstrip patch antenna includes first through third patch antenna layers. The first patch antenna layer includes a ground surface(110) and a first dielectric layer(120). The first patch antenna layer radiates the energy from a transmission power supply portion, and supplies the energy, which is electromagnetically received from second and third patches(150,180), to a reception power supply portion. The transmission power supply portion is electrically coupled with a first patch(130) which is placed on one side of the first dielectric layer(120). The second patch antenna layer includes second and third dielectric layers(160,190). The second patch antenna layer enhances an impedance bandwidth of the energy using the second patch(150) and radiates the energy. The second patch(150) is paced between the second and third dielectric layers(160,190). The third patch antenna layer includes fourth and fifth dielectric layers. The third patch antenna layer enhances an impedance bandwidth of the energy using the third patch(180) and radiates the energy. The third patch(180) is paced between the fourth and fifth dielectric layers.
