To provide a method for recovering reactivity of permeable reactive barrier for remediation of contaminated ground water by injecting specific iron reduction microbes into reactivity deteriorated permeable reactive barrier when reactivity of iron used as reaction media of the permeable reactive barrier, particularly reduction capability of iron on hexavalent chromium is deteriorated. The method for recovering reactivity of permeable reactive barrier for remediation of contaminated ground water is characterized in that reactivity of the permeable reactive barrier on chromium is recovered by injecting iron reduction microbes selected from the group consisting of low G+C gram positive bacterium, Bacillus sp., Caulobacter sp., Anaeromyxobacter sp., Clostridium sp., Bathymodiolus sp., Methylocaldum sp., Phototropic bacterium and Thiothrix sp. into the permeable reactive barrier for remediation of contaminated ground water, wherein reactivity of the permeable reactive barrier on chromium is reduction capability on hexavalent chromium, wherein the permeable reactive barrier is a permeable reactive barrier comprising reaction media containing iron, and wherein the iron reduction microbes are injected into the permeable reactive barrier in an amount of 10^3 to 10^5 CFU.
