ACCELERATED WATER TREEING TEST FACILITY FOR POWER CABLES

An apparatus for testing the accelerated water treeing of a power cable is provided to evaluate the long time operation characteristics shortly by applying the environmental stress received at the installation condition in a short time. An apparatus for testing the accelerated water treeing of a power cable includes a water tank(100), a temperature controller(400), a voltage source regulator(210), a current source regulator(310), a control panel and a remote control panel. The water tank(100) is capable of performing the deterioration test by maintaining the power cable under water. The temperature controller(400) measures and controls the temperature of the heater(410) and the water. The voltage source regulator(210) is provided with the test voltage regulator and the high voltage transformer(200) for overvoltage to apply the voltage stress of the power cable. The current source regulator(310) is provided with the accelerated water treeing load current transformer and the test current regulator to apply the current stress of the power cable. The control panel controls the voltage and the current applied to the power cable in the water tank(100). The remote measuring panel records the temperature of the water in the water tank(100), a power cable temperature, the voltage applied to the power cable, and the change amount of current.
