METHOD FOR SELECTING ACCESS NETWORK IN HETEROGENEOUS NETWORK SYSTEM

A method for selecting an access network in a heterogeneous system is provided to search for networks, and to select an optimum network, so that a mobile terminal can receive an optimum service. When a power is applied(200), a terminal detects priority information(210). The terminal attempts obtaining a network having the first priority(220). The terminal decides whether the attempted network is successfully obtained(230). If so, the terminal accesses the first network to perform a communication service(240). If the attempted network is not successfully obtained, the terminal attempts obtaining a network having the second priority(250).
