An EPON(Ethernet Passive Optical Network) for broadcast communication integration by using a time division multiplexing function is provided to select desired broadcasting channels in an OLT to transmit the selected channels to ONTs, thereby using a low-specification optical receiver at low cost without using an EDFA(Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier). An OLT comprises as follows. A broadcasting/video channel selection switch(21) switches MPEG broadcasting/video data. A broadcasting/video channel selection controller(26) receives selection channel information to send a control signal to the switch(21). A broadcasting/video time slot multiplexer(22) time division-multiplexes selected broadcasting/video channels in one time slot. An IP router(24) routes communication data. An EPON OLT function processor(25) processes an OLT function of an EPON. An Ethernet time slot interface buffer(28) stores the communication data. A frame multiplexer(27) multiplexes a broadcasting/video signal and an Ethernet communication signal into one frame. An optical transmitter(209) optically modules the multiplexed signals. An optical receiver(210) converts the modulated signals into electric signals. A WDM coupler(211) combines/separates a transmission wavelength with/from a receiving wavelength.
